Good Stuff, Free: Joey L. on Creative Live, Now

UPDATE: Too late, it's over. If you are just seeing this now, you snoozed and you losed. You missed it for free, but you can still purchase the archive from CL if you want.

Just a quick heads-up: for three full days, photographer Joey L. is teaching all day live on Creative Live. And it's free.

So far it looks like really good stuff, and definitely worth your time.

This Joey kid will never get a respectable newspaper job if he can't be bothered to shave in the morning.

Mmm. David, I gotta call bullshit on this one. Joey L. may take nice photos, but he drones on and on. The 10 minutes I saw today would be fine for a high school class, but doesn't quite meet the level of Strobist.

@RP-

Gotta disagree with you. But then I have watched more than ~1/50th of the day's output...

Agree with David - I've watched or listened in the background (gotta work) most of the day today and Joey is doing great job talking about all the aspects of photography - from business model to how he chooses main, fill, background, separation lights.
It's been highly illuminating so far.

Anyone know if these are recorded/will be hosted anywhere afterwards?

@ Alexander...yeah you can purchase them from the CreativeLive sit when the event has finished for $149 or $99 if you buy it whilst the course is live...

@Alexander: The workshop can be bought for $99 before it's done live - afterwards its $149 to purchase. Go to the creativeLIVE site for details. That's how all of their workshops work. Free to watch, $$ to purchase.

The thing that sort of caught be off guard is how serious and professional Joey L is throughout the lesson. I kind of thought he would be goofier from the way I saw him act on the GPP shootout vid.

In retrospect though, it shouldn't have surprised me... After all, I don't think Zack Arias walks around normally in plastic sunglasses, camo pants, and a pink cape either.

Learning lots of great stuff on creativeLIVE with Joey L. I been wondering if any or all of this could be recreated with small lights. Posted the question, but it hasn't been asked to Joey.
