Nikon CLS Video: The Lost Footage

Joe "Mexican" McNally and Bob "One-Take" Krist scotch-taped together some of the good parts from the cutting room floor of the new Nikon CLS video, for your viewing pleasure.

Hit Joe's blog for more, including a look at Bob's new travel photography book which I currently am studying in advance of next month's trip to Central America.

Congrats to Bob and Joe on the video, which is finally in stock and shipping from Amazon -- complete with well-deserved five-star reviews. So if you are a Nikon shooter and are busy shopping for everyone else at Amazon this month, don't forget to grab a little stocking stuffer for yourself...

Hah! "The good news is, Nikon and Jesus both love you."

Too funny. Loved this clip as well as the DVD. Especially when Joe gunned than flash off the golden fill reflector in the indoor bridal portrait. Amazing!

I"m in a coffee shop with my headphones on and I was laughing waaaay louder than I should have been. That video is too hilarious. I love the way that two amazing shooters can joke around and not be too cool to be screwed with. I also love the dynamic I starting to see with you and Joe and some other shooters, where you are all just giving each other a lot praise and kudos for what's everyone is doing, rather than trying to one up each other and be the top dog. It's so much better for the photography community when everyone is cool like that. Way to go!

From what I can see in this 'preview' it looks like I'll want a copy too.

Even if I do use Canon.

For now.

Funny outtakes. Great to know the pros still have their humor and don't take themselves too seriously all the time. Might get the video anyway, although my gear is Canon.

Curious, though, if there is a Canon equivalent to a flash instructional series? My apologies if this is a Nikon specific post, but I need all the flash help I can get. Thanks.

Emailed Nikon Canada on why we don't have the CLS DVD here. They said the DVD was not licensed here, to get it licensed and to add french language subtitles was too expensive.

They also said that they were trying very hard to get it here, but definitely won't be here in December.

Joe put together yet another great dvd, packed full of information for the beginner all the way up to pro. You could watch this video 10 times and still be picking up on tidbits of new information.
